Quality Manual for Anodizing

Q. We are a new start-up anodizing company.
We are looking for a Quality Manual to implement. Where do I find one?
Recommendations and suggestions welcome.

A. You are brave, starting up a facility before you know how you are going to control the product.

1. There is no one size fits all QA/QC program.
2. Get copies of the mil specs and the AMS specs for the type of anodizing that you plan to do. That will provide lots of information for starters.
3. If you know who your customers will be, they probably have sections of their manual for incoming inspections.
4. Many companies want to do a quality inspection before they will accept your parts. Many have a checklist for this.
5. Some require ISO certification. That is time consuming and costs money.
