Summary for powder coating specification Discussion
powder coating specification is the core issue here, but the thread does not reach a technical solution. Hari S.V. asks whether a special requirement stack — GD2, bichromatized, 100 micrometer primer, 200/80012 wheel black, and a total coating thickness of 250 micrometer +60/-100 micrometer for a 2-coat GD22 system — is possible to achieve. In response, the answerer says the request is too unclear to interpret confidently and asks for clarification: is Hari trying to understand the pretreatments and coatings, source them, apply them, or determine whether the finished coating is too thick or too thin to meet the spec? The practical takeaway is that the specification needs to be restated more clearly before anyone can judge feasibility or advise on process.
Q. Dear Sir,
I have some queries in powder coatings. We got Special requirements: GD2, bichromatized, coated with 100 micrometer primer. 200/80012 wheel black and the Special total coating thickness 250 micrometer
+60/-100 micrometer (2-coat-GD22).
This solution is possible to do? I need some ideas about this.
Thanks & Regards,
Hari S.V

A. Hi Hari. Sorry, but it isn’t clear to me what your question is. Are you asking what these pretreatments and primers and paints are and where to get them, or are you asking how to apply them, or are they coming out too thick (or too thin) to meet your specs? Are you in the process of writing this spec, or trying to meet the spec? What is the problem and the question? Thanks for any clarifications.
