Summary for gold sponge find Discussion
gold sponge find is discussed only briefly, and the thread does not confirm the claim that a refinery or the government lied. Bryan G says he found a large gold sponge buried, sent it to a refinery, and was told it was silver-bearing clay; he believes that was false and wonders whether the item’s alleged $50 million value or the Patriot Act had anything to do with it. The replies do not verify the story. Willie Alexander asks how large the sponge was and whether it was returned, implying that size and custody matter. Brian Terry adds a joke about preferring natural sponge in the bubble bath, which does not address the claim. Overall, the thread contains skepticism and humor, but no technical evidence or resolution.
Q. I have found a large gold sponge buried and I sent it off to a refinery and the refinery told me it was silver bearing clay. I now know that they lied to me. I’m wondering if the fact that it was worth 50m$ has anything to do with it? The government might be involved with that whole Patriot Act thing. Watch out. Peace.

How big was your gold sponge? At 50m$ it has to be fairly big. Did they give it back to you?
