Time between pickling treatment and painting

Q. Hello everyone,

I would like to know if there is a time to wait between the pickling treatment of a surface where we strip off paint and the application of surface treament (e.g. phosphating) and then a paint.
Does someone has information for me on this subject ?
I might add that we talking here steel and aluminium.

Regards,
Nicolas

A. Hi Nicholas.

No delay at all is best. Depending on the type of paint and the application method, it may be necessary for the parts to be dry; but In some cases, like electropainting, it isn't even necessary to dry the parts between pretreatment and painting.
