Sealed Anodized Hard Coat Aluminum in Contact With Food
May 15, 2012
Q. When a type III hard coat is sealed, does any of the sealing agent (nickel acetate in particular) remain as part of the hard coat? It seams reasonable to shy away from this chemical in favor of a hot de-ionized water seal for hard coat that will be in contact with food. Is this reasonable or just dismissing an acceptable sealing method due to lack of knowledge regarding the chemistry facts?
