Durable matte black plating for an already plated cast Aluminum D-Sub connector shell

Q. Can anyone suggest a durable matte black plating for an off the shelf D-Sub connector shell?
The shells are made of cast Aluminum with zinc plating and followed by a blue-toned chromate conversion coating.

Strip the chromate and the zinc then anodize and dye black.
