Cleaning acrylic for better electroless deposition

Looking for recommendations on good cleaning agents and/or techniques for cleaning Acrylic plastic before performing electroless deposition. I keep getting these clear spots where there is no deposition seems like there is still some oils or something keeping the solution from contacting my acrylic. In other areas the adhesion is not very good. I believe this is all related to bad cleaning techniques or the poor wetting characteristics of Acrylic. Any suggestions?
