Can change of D.I. resin colour affect the quality of water?




WE ARE HAVING ION EXCHANGE MAKE D.M. PLANT OF OBR CAPACITY 13 CU. MTR. DURING A SIX MONTH INTERNAL INSPECTION IT IS OBESRVED THAT CATION RESIN COLOUR IS FOUND GREEN. WHY IT IS HAPPENING. ALSO CAN IT AFFECT THE OUTPUT QUALITY OF TREATED WATER? PL SUGGEST.

Hi, Vishwas.

It is normal for ion exchange resin to change colors during operation. In fact, in small D.I. units it is not unusual to have the resin contained in glass so that the color change can be observed to help anticipate when regeneration will become necessary. I don't think you have given us any information yet to allow anything else to be said about your issue.
