Recovering gold and silver value from electroplated flatware

I have recently inherited some older flatware..the Gold flatware set is 23K gold electroplate, and the silver says "deep silver" plating on it. I wonder if these items have any scrap value at all pertaining to their precious metal coatings? If so, how may I gauge this value?

Hi, Lisa. In today's down market, I can't drive 3 blocks on any city street without passing several "We buy gold!" stores. There must be several in Poughkeepsie. But I think a better value may be gotten from one of the on-line silverware exchanges. Good luck.
