Can't find right size backflow preventer

We have a floor drain and we want to put a back flow preventer (sewer stop) in our drain. Our problem that we are facing is our cast iron drain pipe in the floor is only 2 7/8". They only make them in 2", 3" & 4". How can we conform the cast pipe to fit a 3" back flow. We want to put this in because we have had a sewer backup and want to try to prevent it from happening again. Stumped in Kingston, Ontario canada

In the old days, they would have leaded the pipe and cut threads.
A PVC bushing might be modified.
Bondo might work.
Look for an innovative plumber.
