Repainting Original Wrought Iron Bench (Outside)

The original color of the outside wrought iron bench was a med to dark grey. There was some kind of wash put on it of a light blue almost white color. It almost looks like it was poured over the bench highlighting the design. We would like to duplicate this original effect. Any suggestions ??
