Safety of titanium WOK

October 12, 2011

I purchased a Titanium wok that is almost non-stick when cooking according to the instructions, which is to pre-heat the cooking oil slightly first before the real cooking. It worked pretty good except for some instances that I did not preheat the cooking oil. I believe the cooking surface is anodized for non-stick purposes. The cleaning instruction indicates that I can use soft stainless steel brush to clean. However, I have not done that so far, afraid of it might damage the non-stick surface.

Wondering what is the chemical composition of the surface ? Is it safe to cook? (it is purchased in a foreign country) and if I can indeed clean it with soft stainless steel brush (made by Amway)? It has a tiny residue (visible but has no thickness) in the cooking surface that cannot be removed with scotch bright. How hard is the cooking surface ?

Thanks
Ray
