-----Very thick rhodium plating needed for development
October 4, 2011
Hi,
We need to rhodium plate a platinum wire (50 µ) wound around a silica former. The sensor is coated with phosphoric acid and a voltage applied about 15V to measure moisture. The platinum dissolves quite fast under these conditions whereas rhodium lasts much longer. It is very expensive to make rhodium wire, so we are looking for a specialist to plate the sensors with rhodium. The thicker the better. I understand normally about 2 µ is as thick as you can go due to stress, but research papers using pulse electroplating managed about 20 µ.
Can anyone help?
