Etching "PA" plastic to improve epoxy adhesion

Hello,

My name is Tony Markus and I run a shop that specializes in painting and epoxy lining gas tanks.

We epoxy line "PA" plastic gas tanks for the motorcycle industry. I am trying to etch the plastic to improve adhesion. Safety and hazardous waste disposal are also a concern. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated for either chemical or mechanical etching.
