Matte finishing of aluminium profiles without sandblasting

Hello sir
We do not have sand blasting machine but we need Matte finishing in our aluminium profile after anodizing. How can it come with [Ed. note: without?] this sand blasting machine?

Hi, Rajeev.

One man's "matte" is another man's "that's not what I meant", but it is possible to impart a matte finish by caustic etching in between the cleaning step and the anodizing step.

Etching dissolves only aluminum, thus enriching the copper and silicon on the surface of the profile, which causes dark colored anodizing; so success may also depend on what alloy you are etching. Good luck.
