Lead anodes for copper electrowinning

Hi everyone
This is a first time to get through this web site and sincerely found very interesting as you are talking about things I did like and do.

My question:
I'm running a series of tank houses for copper plating in the Katanga province in the Congo Republic Democratic, using some rolled lead calcium tin anodes, and recently started losing anodes because of corrosion but curiously located on the ear copper bar (hanger bar ) of the anode, causing huge loss of current efficiency and numerous shorts in the tank house. Do I need to ask the supplier to coat the copper bar of the anode with a thin layer of lead or another metal to protect them?
Will also be very interested to know of recent improvements on anode technology.
Thanks
