Laser Scattering / Reflectivity on Anodized Coating?

My R&D Director is asking me to determine the best anodic coating/dye to retard/inhibit laser light reflectivity in and around a 0.156" diameter hole 2 inches deep. The laser has a wavelength of 9.4 to 10.6 micrometers. Does anyone have experience in such a thing? I am thinking a Type II or III dyed black would be be fine, even better perhaps with a glass bead of the surrounding surface. Maybe better still would be to dye it the same color as the laser light - typically red? Any help is appreciated.

Grit blast (as opposed to peening) followed by (hard) black anodize should be a good starting point. Play with the media size to determine which works best for your application. Use fresh aluminum oxide.
