Hardness of H13 material

We have a plastic moulding machine and last week its Ring plunger was broken. The original material of ring plunger is EN41B. But it not avialable here. So that we used H1 material. So I need to harden this plunger. Can anyone can tell me how much hardness is needed for this material for this use?

Hello,
H-13 when used for molds is generally hardened to its upper limit (+60Rc), then double tempered down to provide maximum toughness (48-52 Rc). I would recommend you to discuss with your heat treating supplier and also to check hardness of the broken part and try to take some conclusions. G. Marrufo-Mexico

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
