How can jeweller stop bronze from going green
Hi There:
My name is Luciana and I am a jewelry designer and work with the lost lax technique. I have always worked with silver , but this time I decided to cast my pieces in Bronze to lower the cost. I have a applied a tarnish (that I bought in a jewelry shop) but it went green anyway.
Please , I need help!!! I have about 50 pieces that I am planning to sell in a market stall and need to solve this problem urgently.
How can I stop it from going green?
many thanks
Luciana

If your alloy is correct, you have some chemical causing the problem.
My uneducated guess is to polish it very well and apply a hard wax coating (like carnuba)
Another alternative is to polish and apply a spray coating of an auto clear coat or similar.
I have seen good results on professionally treated brass lamps which are a lot harder to prevent corrosion on than on bronze.
