Ability of chemical film to slow aluminum oxidation

We are building an avionics keyboard that includes bonding 27 transducers to MIC 6 aluminum. The original design utilized bare aluminum in the bonding areas. The product is fully tested in-house before shipping and meets all NAVAIR requirements. We are experiencing long term failures believed to be caused by the aluminum oxidizing under the transducers.

If we have chem film applied prior to bonding, will it stop/prevent oxidation between the transducer and aluminum, or will oxidation only be slowed and eventually result on electrical failures?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
