Coin edge finish
Can you describe what a"coin edge" finish is?
This is not regarding metal coins but in a fixture finish such as an elevator faceplate with the buttons.

Perhaps it is very much like v-beads, also called v-grooves or flutes. It used to be frequent on plastic injected auto lamps years ago as a decorative motif around the light area. It is produced by a technique called mold texturing and is produced by etching with acids the area with the aid of a resist which has the desired b&w pattern (line and separation). The acid etches away the metal on the areas left exposed by the resist.

Years ago we worked on Mil spec parts that were punched out of SS sheet. This left a rather abrupt 90 on the top surface and sometimes a knife edge on the bottom one, so all of the edges had to be "coined". This was a pass thru another set of "punches" that rounded the edges.
