Hand-held XRF's to measure chrome thickness

We are Chrome plating a nickel substrate with 0.0003"-0.0005" of hard chrome.

1. Do the hand-held XRF's ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] have enough energy to do this?

2. Are they accurate, repeatable and reliable?

3. Can these XRF's verify the composition of a tool steel -- again accurately.
