Nickel-chrome plating is milky & cloudy near holes

Hi, I am lab engineer. I have a problem in plating nickel-Chrome cloudy near a hole.
This case is new for me because since 5 years ago, I do this plating never found this problem

Hi, Tina.

The first step, and it's relatively easy, is to find out if the cloudiness occurs during nickel plating or during chrome plating. Strip the chrome off of a finished part with muriatic acid, and see if the cloudiness is still there. Also, pull some parts out of the process before they are chrome plated, and look for the problem there. Good luck.
