Safe paint for galvanized roof (catchment)

We live on an island in the Caribbean and catch water on our roof which is stored in a cistern. Our roof came factory painted but it has discoloured differently so that the roof colour is striped varying shades of green. I want to paint the roof but want don't want residual chemical from the paint ending up in my drinking water. Can you recommend any paints to meet my needs?
