-----Additives like sodium saccharine and butyne diol in sulfamte nickel plating
Dear sir,
I want to know whether I can use both the additives and levellers in the same bath. By using sodium saccharine, I was able to get good soft shim in my nickel sulphamate bath but I am not getting the shine or the brightness. But the deposit is not hard. Is it ok to use some small quantity of butyne diol to get better shine with some hardness. if so Please specify the quantity to be used for saccarine, and butyne diol.

Firstly, buytne diol is a leveller and sodium sacharin is a harder that also gives improved brightener. The amount of saccharin needed will depend on the required hardness, but it will normally only go up to about 520Hv, maybe 550Hv. NTS (Napthalene trisulphonic acid) will go to about 600Hv, but they all have their own advantages and disadvantages.
You can use saccharin with butyne diol with no real problems.
