Blackening pewter jewelry

I am trying to blacken pewter jewellery, tried liver of sulphur did not work. Could anybody advise a solution which can be purchased rather them made (needs to be commercial size packaged)

Try 20%iron(III)chloride solution(objects must be grease and oxide free!).At internet archive you can download/free!/ very good old book on metals colouring by Arthur Hiorns,there you can find small chapter on colouring of tin and pewter.Hope it helps and good luck!
