Scratch/scuff/abrasion Test Methods

Q. Hi, Does anyone know of any specs/test methods that are suitable for assessing abrasion, scuff & scratch resistance of steel and aluminium (various finishes) for automotive trim (floor mats/treadplates/pedal), e.g., scratch from stone in shoe sole, general wear & tear, etc.?

A. Hi, Nat

Try googling "taber abrader" or "taber abrasor" and see if this sounds like what you are looking for. I think that search will lead you to some ASTM specs that incorporate it. Good luck.
