How do I test if a part has been alochromed

I am looking to qualify a supplier to alochrome aluminium parts and need to be able to test that the parts have been alochromed correctly. Are there any test methods that can be used to check the surface of a part to confirm that it has been alochromed and whether the quality of the finish is adequate.

My company alochromes parts for customers so the parts are used in a variety of situations such as in analytical instruments, covers for machines, etc.

William,

Look at either DEF STAN 03-18 or MIL-DTL-5541 [⇦ this spec on DLA]. Both specifications have periodic and lot testing requirements which should suit your needs.
