Titanium Nitride on Gold Jewellery
Titanium Nitride coating lasts long as it been used in drillers, etc., can this coating be tried on Gold Jewellery for its yellow colour? Can the Jewellery with stand Temp. 1200 degree C i.e without any physical damage to the jewellery?

I find your question interesting. Why in the world would you take jewelery to 1200 °C when it melts at 1063C.
If you are trying to make a different alloy of gold, the answer is an absolute NO.
If you want to use TiN as a coating, it will wear well, even if it is thin. Will it allow corrosion if it is not on a precious metal without a strike- Yes it will corrode.

July 26, 2010TiN has been deposited on jewelry for many years. I believe it was Balfour that was using it on class rings. The great advantage (other than cost) for such rings is the hardness of the coating. Complex designs on gold rings do not hold up well. Designs on TiN-coated rings last much, much longer.
