Stripping hard anodising without dimensional change?

Hello I need too remove hard anodising from a disc which is around 50 µm but the only problem is that it has a bore in the middle with close tolerance any other way without using caustic etch many thanks Phil

Hi, Phil. A mixture of chromic and phosphoric acid will strip anodizing without attacking the underlying aluminum. If you use the term "chromic-phosphoric stripping" in our search engine you will find many detailed discussions. But whatever the thickness of the anodizing, that much will be gone after stripping.
