What is "Hard Silver Coating" vs. Silver Plating

what is the difference between hard silver coating & silver plating, which of them is better? to cover copper & steel?

Sorry, Anahita, I don't recall ever hearing the phrase "hard silver coating". Please provide some context about where you are seeing it and why -- it might be no more than empty sales blather.
