Salt Spray hours on Zinc
Is there information on salt spray hours of zinc plating without chromates to red rust?
Is there a chart that tells you the hours to red rust per tenth of zinc?

Hi Nancy,
The short answer is no. The time to red is totally depenant on the zinc plating thickness with no chromate involved.

Hi Nancy Solis,
Normally, platings are microporous in Nature, To arrest that microporous we are doing the Chromate conversion on the surface after Zinc plating.
All the Standards will refer the salt spray Hours only with passivation.
Any specfic reason, you need to do without passivation?
