What are the properties of chrom-moly steel,4130, after heat treating?

First of two simultaneous responses -- April 8, 2010

First, it depends on which properties you are talking about.
Second, it depends on how it was quenched.
Third, it depends on the time and temperature that the "draw" was done at.
Check the technical library for books on heat treating for the entire story. They should have the appropriate volume of ASM for heat treating as well as other specific books.

www.matweb.com is a great website for material properties of metals. Just search for 4130 in the upper right corner and then find the link that best describes your treated condition.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
