-----Looking for a Distressed Antique Bronze finish for aluminum substrate
We provide chrome plated fasteners and covers for the motorcycle industry. We have a request for an aluminum axle cover with a distressed antique bronze bronze plate-the same finish you would find on a kitchen cabinet door handle. However the finish we require must withstand exterior elements of rain and sun. I have looked at anodizing, powdercoat, and PVD coatings with no success. Does anyone know of a process that may work?

Hi, Brian. Real bronze plating should work. Finishing.com recently did a project for IZA where an antique bronze plating supplied by IPS Industrial Polishing Services performed very well in corrosion testing. Best would be to electroless nickel plate the aluminum first.
