Sir:

Most hot dip galvanizers that use H2SO4 (sulfuric acid)pickle use caustic soda [affil links] (sodium hydroxide) at 10% solution. Most hot dip galvanizers that use HCl (hydrochloric acid) pickle use caustic soda at about 5% to 8%. The usual temperature for caustic soda solution is from about 60C to 70C.
