Why is black iron pipe 21 feet long and galvanized pipe 20?

Why is black iron pipe in 21 foot lengths when galvanized comes in 20 foot lengths.

Actually Galvanized Sch 40 pipe (the most common) galvanized water pipe is also 21 foot long. I would like to know why any of it is 21' instead of 20'
