-----Visual Inspection Coupons for Chromate Conversion
Are there coupons available for purchase that show the range of acceptable conditions when performing visual inspection of Chromate conversion coated aluminum parts per MIL-DTL-5541 [⇦ this spec on DLA]?

Hi, J. If they are available someone else will have to tell you about them because I have never seen them. I imagine that both the buyer and the plating shop would have to sign off that the coupons properly represent their understanding of Mil-DTL-5541, but it sounds like a good idea.
In fact, this sounds like a good idea for a thousand different finishes, since we have questions about "aesthetic standards" here every week. Even in the worst of times there are ways for entrepreneurs to start a whole new market -- I'm looking forward to hearing about these coupons soon :-)
