ENP vs. Chrome Plating for ball valves






I am an Engineer working in ENP company, we have to choose ball valves, ball having coating of either Electroless Nickel Plated or Chrome Plated. It may be noted that these valves are to be used in high pressure gas transmission pipelines and that gas may contain Hydrogen sulfide, Carbon , water and condensate.

Please provide information if you have any.

High phos EN is a proved and excellent barrier against corrosion. Hard chrome is better for erosion and wear. Unfortunately the described environment is too complex to forecast. You have to try,
