High pH of CED bath and low pH of UF permeate and rinses

October 4, 2009

Dear all,

I have problem of high pH is CED bath (6.1) and I cannot charge acid as ph of UF permeate (5.3)and UF rinses (5.35)is going downward already. kindly suggest.

Regards,

Walid Ali

It is difficult to understand the situation. The pH of UF rinses cannot go down if the pH of the E-coat bath is high and going up.

But if what you state is correct, you will have to drain part of the UF rinse 2 and top it up with fresh DI / DM water.

You will have to bring down the pH of the E-coat bath immediately or else the paint kick out will commence and cause more grief!

Best of luck.

Q. If pH of CED bath continues to increase, how to control the pH and what are the possible reasons of pH increasing continuously.
