Shine up a dull wood burning stove insert which cannot come out?

Q. I have an old cast iron wood burning stove insert. It cannot be taken out, it does not have any rust on it, it is just very dull. How can I give it a good shine?

A. Hi, Audra. You might try stove polish [on eBay or Amazon]
