Court reporter asks what visual defect on coil coater sounds like "star val B"


When explaining different visual defects that can be seen on a coil paint line, words that sounded like star val B was used to explain one of these defects. I need the proper spelling. Thanks

The closest thing to what you wrote that sounds even remotely similar and is a common term on a coil line is "starving".
