Rough finish in hard chromium plating
I am Venketrajan working in a plating shop in a private organization in India.
The problem is that we are getting rough finish at outside of the hard chrome plated rings with dia. 36 mm and 40 mm. We are using separate tin lead anodes for inside and outside of the component. The roughness occurs at outside only that is too near the jigging area.
The current density is normal and also the bath parameters are within the tolerable limits.
Can I know the reason for this problem and how to overcome it.
Thanks with Regards,

Hi, Venketrajan. My initial reading is that this is simply a classical case of burning, since you note how close the anode is to this area. Please investigate putting "thieves" on your racks.
