How to keep abrasion on chrome wheel from rusting and spreading

Q. I was hoping to find out what the way was, if there is one, to keep a 1/2" x 2" abrasion that was put on my nearly new 20" Albas (chrome wheels) from possibly rusting for a while. I was hoping to not need to purchase a replacement rim for about 9 months or more. The abrasion isn't really screamin' at an eye that isn't looking for it and doesn't know its there. What should be done?

Hi there,
We have the same problem from time to time on truck bumpers and such.
Take a fine S/S or brass wire brush on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and clean the exposed steel, then wipe a couple coats of
adv.
Sharkhide on eBay or Amazon [affil link] Metal Protectant
over the scuffed area. This will keep it from rusting for quite a few years.
Good luck,

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
