-----How to identify visually process finishes?
I'm looking for the best method to visually identify process finishes. To accept or reject parts based on primer, topcoat, chem film, anodize and all other finish appearance.

I guess your best choice would be the "I like it" method.
Visual cues would be just that. They may have little if any bearing on whether the part meets the requirements of a particular spec unless a visual appearance is called for in the spec. What you need to do is read the specs your finishing is supposed to comply to then determine the criteria for a visual inspection.
Please note, if a part is supposed to meet a specific specification i.e. corrosion protection, then the visual appearance may be at odds with the protection on the part. (pretty part = worse protection)

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
