Industrial Waste Assignment

I am an undergraduate student studying Civil Engineering in Bolton Street, DIT, Ireland. I have received an assignment on Electroplating and Metal Finishing, the main components being a desk study of contamination by the industrial process and a relevant treatment system for the same contamination. Do you know of any pdf files related to this topic or do you know where I could find relevant info.

I hope you stated the question poorly otherwise the professor has given an assignment that would require you to write a book (or 2). There are many different plating processes, there are combinations of acidic and alkaline cleaning and activation before plating, there are post plate processes, all these will result in many different waste streams that would require different treatment. (I have presumed you have meant water effluent, if not much of the same variation will hold true for air emissions but the treatment is frequently the same.
