How to strip "hang" the steel needs to be galvanized?

Hello Everybody,

Please advice, what is the best way for steel stripping before it is ready for the galvanizing process.

Especially for the stripping ways of steel angles and pipes.

Sir:
Are you asking about stripping off the zinc of previously galvanized product or the pickling (removal of iron oxides mill scale) prior to galvanizing? In either case most galvanizers hang product as nearly vertically as possible on large racks using steel wire.

Thank you Dr. Thomas for your appreciated answers but unfortunately that was not what I meant, I am asking about the methods used to hang "strip" steel needs to be galvanized.

Also is there a standard angle for the stripped steel as I am galvanizing angles and pipes of 6 meters long and I heared that pipes and tubes in special should be hanged with one side higher than the other.

Thanks a lot for your appreciated time and effort.

Sir:

I think you mean to pickle steel (remove mill scale oxides)
before galvanizing. The usual for 6 meters long product is to hang (usually wire) the product such that one end is 2 to 5 feet higher than the other end. In the kettle the product will be "first-in/last-out" (e.g. The first end of the long steel product into the zinc is the last end out of the zinc). Naturally the steeper the angle the better for zinc drainage.

If you go to "youtube hot dip galvanizing" you can see product going in and out of the zinc bath.
