Passivating heat tint areas

In fabricating frames using 316L pipe with six welded joints there are areas of heat tint which require passivation. The extent of the welding is minimal, 10 linear feet and restricted to the corners and two locations mid span.

What method of passivation would you recommend to accomplish this passivation?

Thank you

Regards

John

John,

For something like that the easiest thing to use is a citric acid based passivation gel or a nitric acid based pickle paste. Let us know if we can help.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
