-----Matching Vacuum metallising to Pearlbrite Satin Chrome?
The customer wants Enthone-OMI Pearlbrite satin chrome as a feature on a painted decorative fascia in an automotive instrument cluster. All our chroming suppliers are refusing to paint either an acrylic paint onto the chrome, or to use an epoxy etch primer.
Two-Pack paints probably can't match the interior paint specified. I understand we can paint acrylic onto vacuum metallised parts. Has anyone matched vacuum metallised parts to Satin Chrome? Does anyone think it is possible?
Thanks for any help.

I presume you are trying to get a semi satin effect over a high gloss? we tend to try acrylic enamels over auto 2k top coats and you may be able to get a high solids 30% gloss. masking is the real issue as a strong masking tape can de-laminate the top coat from the aluminium so a good quality brush and a steady hand are often a safer option.
