Removing latex paint from a wrought iron circular stairway

Goof Off (gallon)

on Amazon

(affil link)

I have a wrought iron stairway that comes from a loft to my living room in AZ. I would like to strip in place and then replace with a spray finish. The stripping seems to be my issue. I am not there all of the time so the odor is not the issue.

Hi, Bernice. Starting with the mildest, Goof Off ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] can supposedly remove latex paint. Multistrip is, according to the manufacturer, an environmentally friendly way to remove paint. The most powerful but the nastiest is methylene chloride based Aircraft Stripper, but I would not use it inside.

The paint can also be removed by sand blasting, but I don't know how practical that would be in your circumstance. Good luck.
