I have a snare drum that I would like to strip the chrome off and then powder coat it. is this possible? can this be done with the chrome still on? or can it be painted with the chrome still on?

Hi, Brian. The chrome has to go, the nickel plating underlying it ought to go but it may not be absolutely necessary. Some powder coaters have reported success by lightly blasting to remove the chrome and roughen the nickel before powder coating.
